Assistant Grassroots Director Application

1UP Soccer is dedicated to developing young athletes through our Grassroots program, offering sessions for players U4 - U8 with the objective of pushing them forward into our advanced pathway within the academy. Our mission is to foster a love for the game while helping children develop essential soccer skills in a fun and supportive environment.

Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and passionate individual to join our team as the Assistant Grassroots Director. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in grassroots soccer and be committed to growing and scaling our existing program, developing effective session plans, and managing a team of coaches and support staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Session Planning & Execution: Create dynamic, age-appropriate session plans that align with 1UP Soccer’s curriculum and philosophy. Focus on developing fundamental soccer skills, teamwork, and confidence in young players.

  • Staffing & Leadership: Recruit, train, and manage coaches and support staff to ensure smooth operation of sessions. Provide ongoing mentorship and feedback to coaching staff to maintain high standards of delivery.

  • Program Growth: Collaborate with the Program Director to identify opportunities to expand the grassroots program, including increasing player enrollment and enhancing community engagement.

  • Quality Assurance: Regularly observe and assess session quality, making improvements based on feedback from players, parents, and coaches.

  • Communication: Serve as a point of contact for parents and guardians, providing them with updates on player progress, upcoming events, and program developments.

  • Administrative Duties: Assist in scheduling sessions, managing registrations, and maintaining accurate records related to the program.

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience directing a grassroots program (preferred but not required).

  • Proven experience in grassroots soccer coaching and program development (U4 - U8 preferred).

  • Strong understanding of soccer fundamentals and child development.

  • Leadership skills with experience in managing or mentoring staff.

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

  • Ability to foster a positive and inclusive environment.

  • Soccer coaching certifications (preferred but not required).
