Mini Games Competitions Week (June 27th - July 3rd)

Objective: Players will have the freedom to enjoy competitive mini games, in an attempt to show, perform and execute the previous 3 weeks of learnings. Players will be given tips and encouragement on how to translate 1UP training topics into their club training sessions, and more importantly, their club matches!

1UP 1v1 Battle

Structure

  • 1 net, 2 lines of players numbered 1-4 if needed

  • call out numbers and players race towards the ball, player first to get there is the attacker

  • if a defender wins it, they play a bounce pass off the coach and then roles are reversed

  • count scores, make it competitive

  • go through coaching points

    Progression/Regression

  • manipulate the ball so each player takes turns defending

1UP 1v1 Cross The Line

Structure

  • one team will start with the ball and attack the defenders, trying to cross the line before they pass to the next line

  • defender tries to prevent the attacker from crossing the line

    Progression/Regression

  • after 5 minutes of work time, a neutral comes in and plays with the attacking team to create an “underload” for the defender to try and defend

  • neutrals stay in for 2 minutes or 1 round

  • focus on blocking the pass and pushing the attacker to the outside

2v2/3v3 Schalke

Structure

  • normal 2v2/3v3 game

    • no more players than a 3v3

  • players are assigned to an opponent on the other team

  • if the opponent you are assigned to scores, you have to do a lap of the entire field before returning

  • first team to 3 goals wins

  • NO NEUTRALS, always play with even teams
