Big Changes to the 1UP Staff 👀
1UP fam, since the start of our second term, we’ve done some restructuring behind the scenes.
We’re proud to announce some of the newest roles at 1UP:
Anthony Garmory: Director of
Phase 1
Coach Anthony is now taking over as Director of our Phase 1 program. This includes Grassroots Director and Mini 1uppers Director op top of his Junior Coach program director role.
“I couldn’t be prouder to step into this role. To see the growth we’ve had over the last 12 months to now have 110 players in the academy in phase 1 alone is credit to the coaches we have available to provide high level sessions to our young superstars,” Garmory said.
Rooney Biggs: Director of Marketing
Coach Rooney Biggs is now 1UP’s Director of Marketing, this includes head of social media, program launcher and website manager.
“The media side is where my creativity comes alive,” Biggs said.
“Watching their reactions to high-quality content seeing the excitement and pride on their faces never gets old and is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do.”
Tristan Leguilette : Director of Marketing
Coach Tristan is now officially 1UP’s Director of Scheduling and apparel. His roles includes rescheduling sessions, player groupings and apparel manager.
“I feel privileged to be in this position, this role is another big step up for me in terms of responsibility and involvement at 1up,” Leguilette said.
“As long as I am able to contribute to helping us keep our core values as we grow, I will be very pleased. As time goes on, I hope to see this role continue to grow as much as 1up does.”
Yihyeon Kim : Director of Tech & Innovation
Coach Yihyeon steps into his new role of Director of Tech & Innovation. This includes overseeing 1UP’s technology and digital programming.
“To me, officially stepping into the Director of Tech & Innovation role means taking responsibility for how we grow smarter, not just bigger. It’s about building systems that make everything we do more efficient, more connected, and more impactful for our players and families,” Kim said.
I want parents to feel like everything is seamless and professional from the moment they land on our website to the moment their child steps on the field.”

This Week in Training
Competitive Games Week!
This week’s objective:
Players will have the freedom to enjoy competitive mini games, in an attempt to show, perform and execute the previous 2 weeks of learnings. Players will be given tips and encouragement on how to translate 1UP training topics into their club training sessions, and more importantly, their club matches! Enjoy the Process!!!

Happy Birthday Coach Mckenzie!

Coach Kenny celebrated her birthday earlier in February, so we’re giving her a belated shoutout.
A certified 1UP OG, Coach Kenny is one of the longest-serving 1UP coaches and has been with the grassroots program since its foundation. She has been crucial to the success of numerous initiatives, including 1UP’s community outreach, school programs, spring and winter camps, and the newly founded Mini 1uppers program.
